With the SE model, Apple releases a more affordable and therefore very popular version of its iPhone every few years. The launch of the iPhone SE 4 no longer seems very far away, as evidenced by all the recently disclosed details.
It was long thought that the next SE version would be called iPhone 16E, but according to Evan Blass – a well-known rumor-monger – Apple finally seems to have decided to forego this type of name change. This is what is clear from an illustration published by Blass in a private message posted on X with what looks like a fragment of source code mentioning an ‘iPhone SE (4th Gen)’.
Dynamic Island
According to the MacRumors website, Evan Blass also shared a possible image of the next SE, showing a Dynamic Island instead of the usual camera notch. The Dynamic Island is a mini-screen where the speaker was located on previous iPhones (read: before the 14 Pro). Active apps can use the screen for notifications and activities, such as a memo or a short dictated route.
Most rumor sites also agree that the iPhone SE 4 will have a 6.1-inch OLED display, in addition to features like Face ID (facial recognition), a single 48-inch camera megapixels and, obviously, a USB-C connector (now mandatory). The new SE version will probably also have a new main processor and more RAM to manage Apple Intelligence, the Apple brand’s AI technology.
-The previous iPhone SE dates from March 2020 and cost 529 euros when it was launched. Insiders expect Apple to release its new model around March or April.
