MagicX just released a new retro gaming console, although it’s not one of the MediaTek Dimensity-powered options it announced last year. The company has in fact started marketing the Mini Zero 28, which resembles the infamous XU Mini M xU Mini M at first glance.

However, MagicX claims to have replaced the aging Rockchip RK3326 with an Allwinner A133P found in TrimUI’s Brick and Smart Pro model ($91.99 currently on Amazon). The combination of an A133P and 2GB of DDR4 RAM should make the Mini Zero 28 powerful enough to emulate many Nintendo 64 and PlayStation Portable titles. We advise you to wait for the publication of independent tests before commenting on this point.

MagicX has also included a 2.8-inch display with native 640 x 480 pixel output, just like the XU Mini M, but a larger 300 mAh battery that offers a maximum capacity of 2,900 mAh for up to nine hours of use between charges. Surprisingly, the Mini Zero 28 also runs Android 10, unlike most of its Linux-based counterparts. Currently, the Mini Zero 28 can be purchased from the MagicX Store in one of three colors, with a starting price of $55.
