Microsoft is determined to push users to leave Windows 10 in favor of Windows 11 in 2025. The Redmond firm is continuing its efforts to convince the recalcitrant with a simple change on its support page.
As you may know, the year 2025 marks the official end of support for Windows 10. More precisely, the old Microsoft OS will no longer be supported by the manufacturer as of October 14. Those allergic to Windows 11 may, however, put up (a little) resistance. In fact, it will be possible to benefit from an additional year of monitoring… provided you checkout.
In the meantime for Microsoft, all means are good to encourage users to migrate on its latest operating system. In May 2023, people still on Win 10 were entitled to full-screen ads for Win 11 each time they started their PC. Rebelote in April 2024 with other full-screen ads, even on non-eligible machines! At the end of the year, the manufacturer directly invited users to upgrade their PC to a new machine running Windows 11. Finesse, we tell you.
Of course, the American company intends to continue its efforts to convince the recalcitrant. As reported by our colleagues from the Neowin site, Microsoft has just made some changes to its support page baptized “Can I upgrade to Windows 11?
Microsoft makes it easier to migrate to Win 11 by overhauling its support
Although the changes are certainly subtle, we see that the page in question now provides more information, particularly to newbies who want to know more about the migration procedure. So, support clearly displays the conditions required to upgrade to Windows 11:
- The device is running a currently supported version of Windows 10. If the device is not currently running a supported version of Windows 10, upgrade to a supported version of Windows 10
- The device meets the minimum hardware specifications to run Windows 10
But most importantly, the page also includes detailed instructions on whether or not your Windows 10 PC can upgrade:
- Download and run the PC Integrity Check application
- From the Start menu, go to Settings > Update & Security, then select the Check for updates button
- Select the following Windows Update shortcut, then select the Check for updates button
On the previous version of the page, there was no link to directly download the PC Integrity Check utility. This is now the case.
