The Bois-Francs Association of Hearing Impaired People (APMBF), with the collaboration of Théâtre Parminou, the participation of AQEPA and the financial support of the Ministry of Culture and Communications Cultural and Inclusion Program, is proud to officially launch its new video capsules to raise awareness of the issues of hearing loss.
Uniting generations, these eight video clips demonstrate the importance of the intergenerational bond. Made from the heart, they shed light on the daily lives of hearing-impaired people. Far from clichés, they offer an authentic insight into their experiences, their joys, their aspirations.
A particularly enriching aspect of this project was to allow members of the association, who are hearing impaired people, to embark on a theatrical adventure. Thanks to the support and expertise of the actors from Théâtre Parminou who formed a united and creative team, the members were able to surpass themselves and offer remarkable performances.
“I have always loved theater, but I never thought I would have the opportunity to act. Thanks to this experience, I gained confidence and discovered new facets of my personality,” shared one of the actors.
Beyond the artistic aspect, these capsules represent a real step forward in raising awareness among the general public, by offering an authentic and positive vision of hearing loss. “Tell me therefore” helps to deconstruct stereotypes and promote inclusion.
All of the capsules are available free of charge on the association’s website, its YouTube channel and its Facebook page. “Don’t hesitate to share them with those around you to contribute to a more inclusive society. We hope that the general public can better understand the challenges and joys of living with hearing loss.”
-Isabelle Michaud, director of the APMBF, Chantal Duguay, social worker and Nancy Laliberté, assistant, would like to express their deep gratitude to all the people who contributed, directly or indirectly, to the realization of this wonderful project. We would particularly like to thank the collaboration of Théâtre Parminou, as well as the participation of AQEPA. A huge thank you to our wonderful actors who gave exceptional performances. Thanks to all of you, these capsules are a success.
