In his “Power On” newsletter, in addition to the iPad 11 and the Apple Watch SE 3, Mark Gurman also reveals that Apple has no plans to refresh the Vision Pro in 2025. He suggests that even if Apple could unveil a new headset before its release next year, everything indicates that the new Vision Pro hardware will be launched in 2026.
Two headsets under development
For our colleague, Apple seems to be focusing on the development of a more affordable headset, a Vision in short. Gurman notes that this “urgent objective” is being actively pursued, with development “accelerating”.
Contrary to previous reports from analyst Ming Chi-Kuo, who predicted that the Vision Pro 2 would begin production in late 2025 with an M5 chip and Apple Intelligence support, Gurman confirms that there will be no release this year.
Despite this delay, the journalist underlines the priority that Apple gives to this “low price” headset. Even if the helmet will not be marketed before 2025, significant progress has been noted very recently. Kuo had however indicated that a cheaper version would not be released before 2027, at best.

And Apple Glasses
Apple is also considering other innovative hardware, including a version of the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses and an AirPods-like device with built-in cameras, codenamed N107. However, these projects are planned for later, probably around 2026 or 2027.
