Due to “several educational failings and attacks on the values ​​of the Republic”, the Rhône prefecture announced that it had terminated the contract between the State and the Al-Kindi school group, located in Décines-Charpieu in the suburbs.

In a press release published Friday January 10, the Rhône prefecture announced the termination of the contract between the State and the Al-Kindi school group, founded in 2007 in Décines-Charpieu (Lyon metropolis). State services reported a “a set of elements in total contradiction with the attachment to the rules and values ​​of the Republic”. “Far from being a series of isolated facts, these failings and dysfunctions taken together demonstrate a proximity of the Al-Kindi establishments with the thinking of the Muslim brothers whose project is contrary to the values ​​of the Republic”continue the prefecture.

According to the latter, the termination is based on “administrative failures in the operation of establishments under contract and their distinction from the non-contract regime” such as the “non-compliance with accounting rules and lack of seal between public financing of the scheme under contract and financing of the scheme outside of contract, absence of specific accounting at elementary school and for high school, opacity and confusion of administrative and financial management , lessons provided under the contract regime for the benefit of students in the non-contract regime”.

Of the “attacks on the values ​​of the Republic”

A meeting was held on December 12 with representatives of Al-Kindi who were able to share their oral observations on a first report from the academic inspection delivered last September. The academic commission finally issued a favorable opinion on the termination of the school group’s contracts. Opinion followed by prefect Fabienne Buccio.

Al-Kindi high school has more than 600 students, the prefectural decision will apply from September 1, 2025.
