ReFuels, one of Europe’s leading bioNGV suppliers to the UK, is continuing its expansion with the opening of a new fueling station in Doncaster, operated under the CNG Fuels brand.
Situated in Yorkshire, Doncaster is considered a key hub for the UK market. Within five hours of 90% of the UK population and four major ports. The station is ideally positioned near the Port of Immingham, the largest in the country by tonnage, and the iPort, a multimodal logistics hub. Capable of simultaneously supplying ten heavy goods vehicles with natural gas, the station has an annual distribution capacity of 19 million kilograms of Bio-CNG, a 100% renewable fuel.
With the opening of Doncaster, ReFuels now has a total of 15 public Bio-CNG stations in the UK. According to Philip Fjeld, CEO and co-founder of the company, this network makes it possible to refuel more than 10,000 heavy goods vehicles daily, thus avoiding the emission of more than 850,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.
From 30 to 40 stations by the end of 2026
By the end of 2026, the operator wants to reach 30 to 40 stations in service. Enough to bring the total refueling capacity to 23,000 trucks per day, or 650 million kilograms of biomethane per year.
-A station is already under construction in Livingston, Scotland, to connect the main cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh.
