The HomeCam Indoor 2.5K features a 4 megapixel (Mpx) sensor that captures 2520 x 1440 pixel images. The app does not allow you to modify this definition when recording, but it is possible to opt for a lower definition during playback for faster access with a poor connection.

Avidsen’s camera tends to overexpose our scene, but it’s not really annoying. On the other hand, it lacks a lot of detail, which Eufy’s 2K Pan & Tilt camera manages to capture despite an identical resolution sensor. That of the HomeCam Indoor 2.5K therefore seems less good, but the optics and encoding probably have nothing to do with it; the HomeCam Indoor will in any case give fewer clues to search for an intruder.
At night

After the lights go out, the Avidsen camera needs 3 seconds to activate its infrared vision. That’s so many seconds of recording lost. While it tends to overexpose our light-filled scene, it suffers from the opposite defect at night and doesn’t give much to see in dark areas. We also notice an overall drop in the level of detail, while the Eufy camera does almost as well at night as during the day, with fewer colors.
-In the event of an intrusion, we will have to hope that the malotru advances almost 2 m from the Avidsen camera to obtain a clear, or at least usable, image of his face, compared to a little more than 3 m for the Eufy camera.
The HomeCam is also a little less effective at detecting movements, and therefore triggering recording. Activities are detected from around 7 m, but human shapes are only recognized from 4 m in the dark. The motion tracking is quite responsive and works on both the vertical and horizontal axis.
