Last spring, Porsche launched the “992.2”, in other words, phase 2 of the current generation of the 911. As a reminder, the event of this new phase was the introduction on the 911 GTS of the all-new engine T-Hybrid, electrically assisted, as its name suggests. The basic Carrera was launched simultaneously, and here is the one which takes its place between the two, the Carrera S. This one is still satisfied with the “normal” 3.0 liter Flat 6, stuffed with two turbos, but of course, the power progresses. It gains 30 hp to reach 480 hp, and the torque is 530 Nm. Enough to go from 0-100 in 3.3 seconds, and reach 308 km/h.
More dynamic
This increase in power is also accompanied by modifications that benefit sportiness and dynamism, with for example a sports exhaust, the Porsche Torque Vectoring+ torque distribution system and brakes identical to those of the GTS, all as standard. . And for even more incisive behavior, Porsche offers optional ceramic brakes, PASM controlled suspensions, and directional rear axle. The new Porsche 911 Carrera S is now available in coupe and convertible, at prices of €158,500 and €173,000 respectively.
