Samsung Display presents four new expandable screen technologies at CES 2025. Let’s take an update on the progress.

Samsung Display has just unveiled three new expandable screen technologies dedicated to mobile devices, but also to cars.

These innovations, grouped under the “Slidable Flex” family, represent a radically different approach to current foldable screens.

One technology, four distinct applications

The Slideable Flex Solo is the most impressive screen in this new range. Capable ofextend its display area from 13.3 to 17.3 inchesit is based on an architecture of flexible OLED panels.

Samsung Display also announced the direct successor to the 2022 17.3-inch foldable panel, used in the Asus Zenbook 17 Fold. This time, the diagonal is 13.1 inches when closed and 18.1 inches when opened.

The Slideable Flex Duet is dedicated to the automotive sector. With an extension range of 8.1 to 12.4 inches, we can imagine the central screen of vehicles capable of expanding according to needs.

The Slidable Flex Vertical is a 5.1-inch screen that can extend up to 6.7 inches, which allows you to imagine modular smartphones.

These screens are produced by Samsung Display which then markets them to several brands, including Samsung Electronics and many others.
