Sylvie Montagnon is originally from Isère. She arrived in 2013 in Glénouze, in Loudunais, where she set up her workshop. She is a glass painter. His pieces, signed and unique, are known worldwide.

Sylvie Montagnon passed her CAP in wood sculpture at 19, but began painting on glass at the age of 20, after a meeting with her master who was, in her words, her “transmitter of light”. “I operate on the magic of things and the magic of encounters”, she whispers.

“I spend my life in the forest”

His world comes in colors. Colors in movement, like ocean waves, on supports that she chooses according to the inspiration of the moment: spheres, vases of imposing dimensions, pebbles.

She likes to discover new shapes and create her own colors. As soon as she sees a surface, she wants to paint. So she can paint a flat surface which will turn into a table top, a cylinder which will turn into a lamp or even a glass on a stem. His compositions are abstract, thus suggesting to the observer to find a landscape or a character in this maze of colors.

Each piece is made of blown glass. The artist chooses his glass shapes from glassmakers or glassblowers in , Italy, Portugal and even Poland. She chooses from existing models, but has already had molds created to fully express her creativity.

A house to share

Poetry inspires him, music too. She is attracted by nature and the oceans, “I spend my life in the forest, which explains certain colors », she smiled. His works in turn express life and arouse emotion thanks to sublime plays of light. The shapes surprise and tell a different story depending on the angle from which you look.

His pieces travel in France and abroad, from to Nîmes, from to Bora-Bora. They are permanently exhibited and sold in galleries and specialized boutiques such as Galerie Bora Home or at the Ateliers d’Art de France concept store in Paris. She exhibited in January 2024 in Paris with her artistic agent Brian Elliott Rowe.

Sylvie Montagnon’s private collection is in a setting, in a house acquired two years ago not far from Place Sainte- in Loudun, with an idea of sharing. She can welcome visitors or artists who wish to exhibit alongside her. She is also thinking of creating an art library so that her works travel… and come back, like the surf.
