The year 2025 is off to a flying start in the world of PC gaming. Three industry giants — Asus, Samsung and MSI — have just simultaneously announced their 27-inch 4K OLED monitors clocked at 240 Hz.
For sure, it's a panel from Samsung Display that's there: a beautiful 27-inch QD-OLED, 4K definition and a refresh rate that goes up to 240 Hz.
Asus, Samsung and MSI have just simultaneously announced their new 27-inch 4K OLED monitors clocked at 240 Hz.
What's new here is the diagonal size, 27 inches. There were 4K 240 Hz in 32 inches, but not in 27 inches. We therefore obtain a better resolution. This gives a pixel density (PPI – Pixels Per Inch) of around 163, which provides excellent sharpness for text and fine details.
At the heart of these new monitors is the fourth generation QD-OLED panel developed by Samsung Display. This technology combines the advantages of traditional OLED (perfect blacks, infinite contrast) with those of Quantum Dots, resulting in more vivid colors and increased brightness.
The move to 240 Hz is not just a marketing argument. This high refresh rate provides exceptional fluidity, particularly valuable in competitive games where every millisecond counts. Movements are sharper, ghosting is almost non-existent, and input lag is reduced to a minimum with a response time of 0.03 ms.
The arrival of DisplayPort 2.1a is also important. With its bandwidth of 80 Gbits/s, it can manage 4K at 240 Hz without compression. A technology that comes at the right time, as Nvidia's future RTX 50 graphics cards promise performance capable of fully exploiting these characteristics.

The sustainability challenge: 3 years warranty
If the technical characteristics impress, the manufacturers have also worked on durability. Asus and MSI offer a three-year warranty including protection against screen burn-in, historically the Achilles heel of OLED technology.
DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification is present on all models. Asus goes further by adding Dolby Vision HDR compatibility, which promises dynamic management of the colorimetric range depending on the content displayed.
The differences between the three models are subtle, but significant. The Asus screen has a slightly smaller diagonal (26.5 inches) but compensates with more advanced HDR features. MSI is banking on confident gaming design and features like Sound Tune AI. Samsung, true to its reputation, offers a more sober design, but just as effective. We also find Tizen OS on Samsung's PC screen, and therefore some native applications.
The major unknown remains the price. None of the manufacturers have yet communicated on this point, but given the on-board technology, we must expect prices above €1000.
