LG surprises with a new foldable monitor
LG recently unveiled a surprising innovation: the UltraGear GX9. This monitor, with impressive specifications, stands out with 5K2K resolution and the ability to fold. The screen can go from a curved to a flat position with a simple gesture.
A flexible monitor for an optimized gaming experience
In a press release, LG detailed the features of this monitor. “The 45-inch monitor can go from a completely flat position to a 900R curvature in seconds, giving users incredible flexibility and increased control over their gaming experience”said the firm. While this isn’t the first foldable display on the market, it is the first to offer 5K2K resolution.
Advanced Features for Unmatched Gaming Performance
But the screen’s flexibility isn’t its only notable feature. The UltraGear GX9 monitor features an enhanced Dual-Mode feature, making it easy to switch between different resolution and refresh rate presets depending on monitor usage. On top of that, LG has equipped its monitor with an ultra-fast response time of 0.03ms (GtG), anti-glare and low-reflection coating, and an aspect ratio of 21:9 for maximum screen space. It also offers eight configurations to customize game settings according to different game genres, such as FPS, RPG, MOBA and racing simulators.
A presentation expected at CES 2025
LG plans to present these monitors at CES 2025, so we will know more soon. The question of price, however, remains unanswered, and arouses curiosity. How much will this cutting-edge display technology cost? We’ll have to wait to find out.
