The flight duration of the Soyuz MS manned spacecraft will be increased to seven to nine months from 2025, compared to six currently.
As Roscosmos told journalists, this will save one ship every two years.
“Starting in 2025, the flight duration of the Soyuz MS spacecraft is expected to increase from six to seven to nine months, saving one spacecraft every two years“, the state-owned company said in a press release.
She added that next year the third amendment to the agreement between Roscosmos and NASA on cross flights to the ISS should be signed – this will be done to ensure the presence on the ISS of at least one astronaut and at least one cosmonaut.
« The agreement will further provide for two NASA astronaut flights on the Soyuz MS-28 and Soyuz MS-29 spacecraft in 2025 and 2026, respectively, and three Roscosmos cosmonaut flights on the Crew Dragon spacecraft (another additional flight in 2025 and one – in 2026 and 2027)“, explained Roscosmos.
