It's time that Nintendo reveals its prochaine Switchcommonly called, for ease, Nintendo SWITCH 2, NS2 or even SWITCH 2. Logically, Nintendo undertook to present it by March 2025 but we hope not to have to wait until then (a recent rumor is also based on the month of January).
Between the leaks, the publication of accessories and other indiscretions, it is really time to officially discover the console because in the meantime, it is the rumors that lead the dance.
This time it is the Reddit forum who released images (allegedly) of the console. We see what is presented as the NS2 side view but without Joy-Con which allows you to see the new magnetic attachment system but also the new integrated support (as described and even drawn, for several weeks). In another image, we see (again allegedly) the logo of the console: the designed Joy-Cons that we know decorated with a 2 (above the words Nintendo Switch). The last image seems to show part of the new dock…
Obviously, even if the Reddit forum decided, after verification, to publish these images sent by a member, at this stage, it still needs to be hammered home, it is only a new rumor.
This is all the more true as the images precisely take up lots of elements from other rumors. On Redditmany members have also expressed doubts about the veracity of these images, highlighting flaws suggesting that they could have been generated by an AI.
Of the claims disputed by Reddit but, it is true that today, it is very easy to generate all kinds of images… And then, you don't necessarily need AI to create a fake. The oldest probably remember the time when the Switch was still called NX and, in particular, of the fake NX controller published by… Reddit.
Whatever the case, it is true that, as usual (and perhaps even more so) Nintendo takes its time and as (human) nature abhors a vacuum, this leaves room for speculation and rumors.
In any case, for players what matters is undoubtedly above all what the console will have in their stomach and the games they will offer from its launchmore than its appearance.
But, be patient, 2025 should finally lift the veil on the rest of the adventures of the Nintendo Switch.
