If you want to change your TV, but your budget is quite limited, you can for example turn to the Philips 55PUS7609 model. This 4K television, with HDMI 2.1 ports and the new Titan OS operating system, is currently offered at 399 euros instead of 549 euros on Amazon.
The most recommended televisions generally accumulate premium technologies and are adorned with a QLED or OLED panel with multiple compatibility. These models may, however, not be within the reach of all budgets, but fortunately, some references that are a little less well endowed, but really interesting and above all less expensive, can be found. For example, the Philips 55PUS7609 TV only has an LED panel (4K, all the same), but also HDMI 2.1 ports and the new Titan OS operating system, and is priced at less than 400 euros.
The strong points of the Philips 55PUS7609 TV
- A 55-inch 4K panel
- An HDMI 2.1 connection with the VRR
- Titan OS, the brand's new OS
Previously priced at 549 euros, the Philips 55PUS7609 TV is now available on sale for 399 euros on Amazon.
An elegant television in your living room
The Philips 55PUS7609 TV firstly sports a so-called “frameless” design, meaning that it has no borders around the screen. The result? An elegant and slim design that reinforces immersion in each content. The effect will be maximum if it is fixed to the wall, but its feet still allow it to be placed on a TV cabinet. Be careful, however, if you want to slide a soundbar under the screen placed on the piece of furniture: the feet are not very high, the soundbar could encroach on the bottom of the screen, and therefore the image.
Concerning its screen, the television integrates a 55-inch LED panel, which has the advantage of offering 4K definition (3,840 x 2,160 pixels). Certainly, we cannot benefit from image quality similar to that offered by a QLED or even OLED panel, but the brand promises that thanks to the Philips Pixel Precise Ultra HD engine, the images will be sharper, the colors richer. and smoother movements. The panel is also compatible with HLG, HDR10 and HDR10+, ensuring brighter and more detailed images. On the audio side, we are entitled to Dolby Atmos for very rich and vast sound sequences.
Titan OS, the new era of the brand
The Philips 55PUS7609 TV also has three HDMI 2.1 ports. This connection not only allows you to take advantage of VRR, useful for getting rid of screen tearing, but also the ALLM function, which considerably reduces latency by automatically switching to a mode provided for this purpose. On the other hand, the panel being limited to 60 Hz, we will not be able to play in 4K@120fps on a next-gen console, which still remains the most pleasant way to play recent titles…
Finally, on the OS side, Philips has swapped Google TV for Titan OS, a new operating system which obviously integrates popular applications such as Disney+, Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, Pluto TV and DAZN. Suggestions from major streaming services are even displayed in one place, which can make your choice easier. In addition, compatibility with Google Assistant is also ensured here.
