More than 8 GB: The Samsung Galaxy S25 should have at least 12 GB of RAM when launched

With the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra set to hit the market, you can be assured of a quality product January 22, several Geekbench reports from all three devices have surfaced at different times. The only common point is the presence of at least 12 GB of RAM on all three devices. Famous X leaker Abhishek Yadav claims that Samsung will finally launch 8GB variants this time.

He adds that memory will also increase to 256GB on all three Galaxy S25 devices – a necessary and long-overdue update for a phone that’s supposed to last seven update cycles. Adding a 1TB variant for all three phones would be nice, but there’s no indication that will happen just yet. Whether this will result in a corresponding increase in price remains to be seen. A recent leak suggests that we may not have to worry about this.

Samsung’s decision to increase the RAM of the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra is not altruistic. Galaxy AI, like any other AI-based solution, is notoriously memory intensive. If 8 GB is enough today, it will not be the same in a year or two. Apple learned this the hard way with Apple Intelligence and gave all of its laptops/tablets a free RAM upgrade, even older models.
