The ChatGPT application for Mac gains compatibility with new coding and note-taking applications, including Apple’s Notes application with which the OpenAI chatbot is now able to interact. ChatGPT started supporting some Mac applications last month: there are sometimes limitations due to confidentiality issues (ChatGPT, for example, only has access to the last 200 lines of Terminal), but it is no longer supported. no longer required to copy and paste to submit questions. Here is the list of applications now supported:

Apple Notes, Notion TextEdit, Quip, Xcode, VS Code (incluant Code, Code Insiders, VSCodium, Cursor, Windsurf), Jetbrains (incluant Android Studio, IntelliJ, PyCharm, WebStorm, PHPStorm, CLion, Rider, RubyMine, AppCode, GoLand, DataGrip), TextEdit, Terminal, iTerm, Warp et Prompt.

ChatGPT for Mac is a separate application from the chatbot integration with Apple Intelligence on macOS 15.2 launched last week, which is currently reserved for English-speaking countries (for , the arrival is planned for April 2025).
