While Black Ops 6 makes many players happy, the same cannot be said for the players. Many actors withdrew from the project after suspicions of too much use of AI by developers which ultimately endangers their profession.
With Black Ops 6, Call of Duty returned to the forefront and into the hearts of players. With a mastered campaign, content-rich multiplayer and above all the big return of zombie mode, more ambitious than ever, this episode marks the return of one of the franchise's fans' favorite sub-licenses. While the title is a hit for Activision and its new owner Microsoft, certain practices of the developers, Treyarch, do not delight everyonestarting with the actors who participated in the game.

Departures in Black Ops 6
Recently, many actors who had lent their voices in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, particularly for the zombie mode, withdrew from the project. In question? The lack of protection against the use of artificial intelligence in their contract. And clearly, this fear does not come out of nowhere. For Christmas, Treyarch implemented an illustration in Black Ops 6 showing a zombie Santa… with six fingers. If this can be justified because it is a creature of fiction, a hand with more than five fingers is often a sign of using AI to generate illustrations. Coming back to the voice actors, the reasons for their departure have not been officially communicated and these are primarily rumors coming from @TheGhostOfHope, one of the most renowned leakers in the Call of Duty scene.
A worrying use of AI
According to the informant, the departures are far from over at Call of Duty. Other actors could be recast in future maps, giving a whole new voice to operators known since the beginning of the game. Moreover, some players have complained about these new casting choices. This is for example the case for SAM, the artificial intelligence which speaks to operators in zombie mode, some of whom have complained about the new voice. Beyond the actor's performances, we can above all imagine that the actor did not have time to record in good conditions. In any case, we hope that Activision will take steps to prevent this kind of situation in the future.
