Launaguet. Pétanque: an achievement in the Coupe de France

The municipal bowling alley of Launaguet was the scene of a memorable exploit. For the third consecutive year, USP de Launaguet faced, in the 3rd round of the zone, the Gersois of Gondrin Lauraet. This December 15 will remain a date engraved in the history of the USP sports club, the team winning and qualifying, for the first time, for the 32nd finals of the French Pétanque Cup.

Brilliant revenge

The players triumphed over Gondrin, a formidable opponent who had eliminated the locals two consecutive years at this same stage of the competition. But this time, the revenge was on the side of the USP, and it was brilliant! From head-to-head, the competitors laid the foundation for their success, winning 4 out of 6 matches for a score of 8-2. The pressure intensified during the doubles, but the team was able to keep its cool, despite two games which were not very well started, finally achieving an impressive flawless performance with 3 victories out of 3, adding 9 points additional to the meter. With a total of 17 points, the triples, which are worth 5 points each, became useless to play. Victory was then acquired at the end of the doubles! This success is the result of collective work brilliantly orchestrated by coaches Fabrice Perilles, Jean-Luc Bramonte and Christophe Kieser. The players Kévin Le Fur, Jérémy Sans, Stéphane Duprat, Stéphane Villarzel, Éric Moruzzi, Romain Pech, Laetitia Pech, and Nathalie Pitot were able to express their satisfaction and savor their success in the face of this new feat. USP Launaguet is now qualified for the 32nd finals, which will take place on Saturday February 1, 2025. In the event of a victory, the players will have one or two additional matches to play on Sunday February 2: the 16th finals in the morning and the round of 16 in the afternoon. The location of the competition has not yet been defined, but it will be communicated soon. A great end to the year for the entire US Pétanque de Launaguet club!
