The Bays of Tadoussac and Chaleurs will jointly receive in 2025 the 19e world congress of the Association of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World. The theme of the event will be The Great Alliance, a reminder of history renewed by current ecological issues.
This theme of course refers to the history of Quebec, more precisely to the first treaty between the representative of the King of France, François du Pont Gravé, accompanied by Samuel de Champlain, and the Chief of the Innu First Nation of Tadoussac, Anadabijou, May 27, 1603.
“The great alliance of 2025, as we will develop it, will be both a historic reminder of the importance of working together to strengthen committed ecotourism, in the preservation of the complex ecosystems of our Bays. (This) will also be the transmission to younger generations, the tourists of tomorrow, of the values of protecting biodiversity in our bays, to better envisage the future of our planet, and of all humanity,” explains the organizing committee in a press release.
Guy Rousset and Gaétan Pelletier, respectively president and vice-president of the organizing committee,
believe that “the 2025 congress will be a meeting place, anchored between cultures, traditions and scientific research, on the future of our bays in relation to climate change”.
The organizers also state that “journalists specializing in tourism, travel and adventure, will be personally invited as members of their delegation, to experience the congress and a regional post-tour, organized especially for them, to discover our cultures, our landscapes and our populations. »
Jane Chambers-Evans, representing Tadoussac Bay, participated in the last congress held in Morocco to invite international participants to take part in the next edition which will be held from September 21 to 27, 2025.
