Chassis, connectors, screen of the HP Envy x360 OLED 14-fa (A18QZEA)
With its compact light silver design, thin and light aluminum with sandblasted anodized finish, this hybrid laptop PC that can be opened 360° has a discreet, elegant and yet original appearance.
Because the screen has multi-touch touch technology thanks to which you can control the 2-in-1 laptop by simple gestures/pressures of at least one finger placed on it.
The tactile aspect induces a shiny coating which revives the colors but is subject to reflections in a bright environment (e.g. outdoors).
The screen also benefits from OLED DCI-P3 characteristics ensuring colorimetric accuracy well above average with deep blacks, significant vertical and horizontal viewing angles as well as low latency. This provides greater fluidity than a standard 60Hz panel, especially since the screen also has a refresh rate of 120Hz.
As it promises to be 2.8K, the screen is also suitable for High Definition content, its 16/10th format higher than the classic 16/9th displaying more information.
Through the Windows Hello and Infrared functionalities of the webcam which allows facial recognition, you can authenticate yourself biometrically.
When you are not using the webcam, you can hide it behind a shutter to preserve privacy.
The chiclet keyboard has a backlighting solution that you simply activate whenever you need to better distinguish the keys.
This 2-in-1 laptop integrates good connectivity with its 2 USB-C ports, its practical HDMI video output to easily connect it to a monitor or TV for example, its Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6E ax wireless modules to communicate and connect remotely, its audio port or its 2 USB 3.0 (USB 2.0 compatible) guaranteeing transfers up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if used connects USB 3.0 devices.
Performance, autonomy of the HP Envy x360 OLED 14-fa (A18QZEA)
The HP Envy x360 OLED 14-fa (A18QZEA) is a compact High Definition High Fidelity laptop PC with high performance in terms of multimedia-oriented processor
Driven by an AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS Octo Core Hawk Point processor which houses the Radeon 780M graphics solution, coupled with 16 GB of RAM, this hybrid laptop delivers good overall power which will delight demanding users.
We are thinking in particular of creators because this core deploys its potential in areas requiring CPU and RAM resources that take advantage of multi-cores, such as video editing or photo editing.
Here the processing is faster under this type of work than if we were dealing with a PC based on a Quad/Hexa Core.
SSD storage helps provide fast processing, as well as start/stops and application launches.
Because the SSD clearly improves responsiveness and fluidity since it offers great speed.
The SSD also offers the advantage of consuming little energy, being robust and silent.
Here it offers a capacity of 512 GB, like many models on the market.
However, if you need more space you can rely on an external storage device, preferably USB 3.0/USB-C type to obtain fast transfers.
And in terms of graphics? With no dedicated graphics card, gamers will move on.
However, thanks to the Radeon 780M, we can obviously watch HD photos and videos. But also play light to modest games… if you are ready for concessions.
Reducing the screen definition allows you to obtain a greater number of fps. Because playing in 2.8K requires more graphics calculations than playing in Full HD, which implies a lower number of fps.
As for the autonomy of this Ultrabook, easy to transport because it is compact, thin and light, count on around 6 hours on battery in light use.
Some people looking for a 2-in-1 student laptop with high processor performance may be interested.
Finally, in terms of noise and heat, expect them to be present when this hybrid laptop is pushed hard (eg: processing).
If necessary, a ventilated support can be used in addition to limit temperatures (remember to check the dimensions carefully!).
