this new feature will change your habits with your voice messages

WhatsApp messaging is launching a feature capable of transcribing voice messages into writing, the firm announced Thursday, November 21. An easy-to-access tool that should see the light of day in the coming months.

No more reason to snub vocals, WhatsApp has found the solution. Meta instant messaging has developed a tool capable of transcribing recorded messages orally, the firm announced last Thursday, November 21. In addition to its upcoming appearance on the platform, the new function is likely to make a lot of people happy, both among those most resistant to the trend and among people who are hard of hearing. But not only that.

In an article published on its blog, the application ensures that “voice messages [rendront] [les] interactions with [les] loved ones even more personal” by allowing users “on the move”, “confronted with a noisy environment”, or blocked by “a long voice message [qu’ils ne peuvent] not listen” in the moment, to have access to the message.

A very simple function to activate

This function is very simple to activate. When it is actually available, to begin with, simply enter the “settings”, go through the “discussion” menu and click on “transcribe voice messages”. Once the function is activated, simply press insistently on a voice message and select “transcribe” to read it.

Another innovative aspect is the possibility given to users to choose their language. Note that only a few languages will be available for transcription at the beginning (less common idioms will be available later).

On the security side, the firm assures that the transcriptions will also be secure, being “generated […] so that no one else can listen or read [les] personal messages,” including herself.

But that's not all. In addition to this function, WhatsApp could soon enrich its offer. In fact, the messaging promises to be able to chat without giving your phone number or to automatically block messages from unknown numbers. Small advances that should delight more than one person.
