The big news for 2025 is the implementation of a new seasonal format. There will be three seasons per year, each lasting 16 weeks (8 patches), with immersive themes. For each we will have content adjusted according to the theme of the season, including skins, gameplay and new mechanics.
Season 1: Noxus Takes Control
An exclusive cutscene will reveal the Noxian champions. The Summoner's Rift map will be modified to fit the theme. A new Noxian champion will appear. Bloody roses will appear on the map in locations where champions have been killed. Collecting them will give you Adaptive Strength and XP.
But the biggest change is in the river where every 20 minutes, a new epic monster will appear: Atakhan. It has two forms: a version focused on epic battles and another on resilience, depending on the pace of the game. If the game is slow, Atakhan will give the entire team that kills him a GA. If, on the contrary, it is fast, it will offer a bouquet of bloody roses and buffer the bonuses given by other epic monsters.
A revamp for Viktor
Among the other changes we will find, as usual, new objects as well as new runes such as the Curse of the Bloodthirsty, reducing the magic resistance of targets. Nexus turrets will now be able to reappear after their destruction, offering opportunities for turnarounds.
And finally Viktor will undergo a graphic overhaul to better match his character in the Arcane series. Its lore will also evolve. But its gameplay remains very similar because only its ultimate evolves. From now on it will get bigger and bigger with each kill. With all these new features, League of Legends promises a refreshed and immersive experience in 2025. Prepare to invade the Rift under the banner of Noxus this January!
