After being limited to communities for a long time, the event organization feature is now available to everyone on WhatsApp groups.
In May, a new feature appeared on WhatsApp communities: an “event” button that, as its name suggests, allows you to organize events within said communities. Practical, yes, but it must be recognized that the community aspect of WhatsApp is ultimately quite little used, when compared to other platforms. Groups are generally preferred.
So that’s why organizing events on WhatsApp is now available for groups outside of communities. A new button has just appeared there, even if it is not yet available, and probably never will be, for individual conversations (what would be the use of that?).
To create an event in a group conversation, you will now need to press the small paperclip that allows you to send attachments, you will then discover a new button called “event”.
All you have to do then is create the event, name it, choose a name and a location, and you can add the event to the group and invite all of its members.
