uploading a video from iPhone is now much faster

Google’s video streaming app has just been updated on iOS. It reintroduces a very practical function allowing you to send a video much more quickly to the platform.

YouTube users on iOS benefited from a particularly interesting update this week. The application has in fact reintroduced an option allowing you to quickly upload a video directly from the native Photos application.

YouTube reintroduces uploading from the share sheet

Rather than having to open the YouTube app and then select a video stored on your device to send it to your channel, it is now possible to upload a video directly from the Photos app in iOS. Now you can go directly to the iOS photo library, press the iOS share button and select YouTube from the list of suggested applications to upload your online content. By doing this, the video will automatically be opened in an editor, which will allow you to cut it to keep only the passage that interests you. You will then just have to fill in the details of your video, such as the description, location or visibility of it.

The arrival of this option in YouTube is not really new. The application already offered such integration in the iOS share sheet a few years ago, before it was removed in 2018 without knowing the exact reason.

The reintroduction of this feature, long requested by users of the platform, was spotted by MacRumors in version 19.47.7 of the application, without Google making any mention of it in the patch notes.
