Through his latest Power On newsletter, Mark Gurman shared that no new models were planned for the next few years. He states in detail that Apple has “no concrete plans” to update its headset “significantly.”
Consumers who were planning to wait for an improved version potentially launching in the coming months can now moderate their expectations for this long-awaited AirPods Max 2.
“The helmets don't sell well enough to justify the investment in development, but they are also not a big enough failure for us to abandon them completely,” adds the Bloomberg journalist.
Mark Gurman still admits that the AirPods Max has “a market, even if their price is high and their technology is outdated. He mentions in particular that a good number of athletes in high-end Los Angeles gyms wear the Apple device.
