It’s no longer a secret: Google will unveil its Pixel 9 smartphones at an event on August 13, 2024. The American giant is getting ahead of its usual schedule since we were expecting this officialization next October. Bringing the date forward doesn’t mean that the Pixel 9 will surprise us on all points. As always, it didn’t take long for the mill of leaks and other rumors to start working, with the first images of the mobile as early as last January.

The opportunity to see a fairly radical change in the rear photo island for example. We know that Google will present 3 distinct models this year: a Pixel 9 standard, a Pixel 9 Pro and one Pixel 9 Pro XL. On the other hand, what is hidden under the shell of the mobiles has not yet completely leaked. The Pro version should have 16 GB of RAM, while the Tensor G4 chip will be responsible for running everything. As for thescreenit seems like Google will not seek to distinguish itself from Apple on this point, quite the contrary.

Here’s what the Pixel 9 and iPhone 16 might have in common, and it’s a pleasant surprise

According to information obtained by Korean media ETnews, Pixel 9 and iPhone 16 screens will use the same OLED panel. It is Samsung Display who is responsible for manufacturing them, knowing that smartphones would be entitled to the latest version produced: the M14. To put it simply, the higher the number after the letter M, the better the screen. For example, the Galaxy S24s use a panel M13.

Concretely, The M14 will be brighter and more durable than its predecessor. Two appreciable points, but which may go unnoticed during use if you are the type to lower the brightness and change your phone every 2 years. The 3 Pixel 9s are expected to benefit, while only the iPhone 16s Pro et Pro Max will be entitled to it. While confirmation of some of this information is coming quickly, we will have to wait longer for Apple. Unless the Cupertino company also changes its schedule.
