Thinner, more rounded, how could the Galaxy S25 Ultra get even closer to the Galaxy Note?

According to leaker Ice Universe, the Galaxy S25 Ultra would be thinner and more rounded. Enough to make it easier to handle the biggest Galaxy.

While we tested and really liked the Galaxy S24 Ultra, we have to admit that it has one objective flaw: it’s a beautiful baby that won’t fit into all pockets.

Samsung would like to slightly alleviate this impression of owning a brick for its next Galaxy S25 Ultra. At least that’s what leaker Ice Universe says in a series of tweets.

Thinner and rounder

According to the leaker, the smartphone would become the brand’s thinnest since the late Note range, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. It would measure 8.4 mm thick, compared to 8.6 mm thick for its predecessor, the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which should therefore not constitute a fundamental difference.

In addition, Samsung would take the opportunity to review the design of its Galaxy S Ultra to make its corners more rounded. This would allow it to move away from the very square aspect of the current Galaxy S Ultra, which can certainly help with handling, especially with the stylus, but which tends to make handling less pleasant.

As some comments under these posts point out, hopefully if Samsung makes these changes, it won’t come at the expense of device durability.

When will the Galaxy S25 be unveiled?

As a reminder, the Samsung Galaxy S25s are expected at the beginning of 2025 with the probable arrival of a 50 Mpx sensor behind the X3 telephoto lens of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. But before that, Samsung’s big deadline will be held on July 10 with the probable launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6.
