The WhatsApp Event button is coming to everyone in group conversations to make it easier to organize your birthdays, parties with friends or game nights.
Hardly a day goes by, or almost, without a small WhatsApp feature being tested or deployed being discovered. So here is a new one which will be reminiscent of one of the most practical functions of Facebook: the organization of events (birthdays, games, going away drinks, etc.).
Indeed, as pointed out PhoneArena, WhatsApp has started rolling out a button for all users to create an event reminder in group conversations. In itself, this function already existed, but only through the Communities section of the messaging application. It is now more accessible and therefore more practical.
How to take advantage of the Event button in WhatsApp
This feature is not available for classic private conversations, involving only two people. To see this Event button, you must therefore be in a group conversation. In the input field, tap on the paperclip icon to add an attachment.
You will then see different options appear and, among them, the very last one, the Event button.
By clicking on it, you are taken to a dedicated window allowing you to give a name to the event (e.g. xxxx’s birthday), add a short description and obviously indicate its start date and time. You can also specify the location and associate a call link (classic or video) with the event in question.
Then all you have to do is press the send button and the event is created in the group conversation.
