In a press release, the boss of the French developer confirmed that he wanted to give new life to these successful opuses. Ubisoft is reportedly working on it but has not yet confirmed any names for a future remake.

A glorious past, revisited. Ubisoft is working on a series of remakes ofAssassin’s Creed. Yves Guillemot, CEO of the French developer, has revealed his strategy to breathe “new life” into the first installments of the franchise.

“Gamers can look forward to some remakes, which will revisit some of the games we’ve created in the past and modernize them. Some of them still have extremely rich worlds,” Ubisoft’s boss said in a statement.

“Technology is evolving at such a pace that the possibilities for evolution are limitless. […] There are a lot of things we can do to enrich (our games) and make them even more dynamic.”

Although not officially confirmed, a redesign ofAssassin’s Creed Black Flag would be in development, recalls the specialized media Engadget.

Diversified licenses

But the French publisher does not intend to stop there. Yves Guillemot expressed the desire to “accelerate the pace of release” of games Assassin’s Creed, while guaranteeing a certain “diversity”. “Our goal is to get out of the games Assassin’s Creed more regularly, but not so that it’s the same experience every year.”

He also highlighted the “contrast” between the next titles in the series: Assassin’s Creed Hexe et Assassin’s Creed ShadowsThe first will transport players to the time of the Holy Roman Empire (the Middle Ages), while the second will immerse them in the tumult of feudal Japan.

The latter, scheduled for November 15, promises to skillfully mix fiction and historical reality, featuring emblematic figures such as Lord Oda Nobunaga.

Ubisoft also plans to launch the “Animus hub” (Infinity), a platform dedicated to the franchise, on the day of Shadows’ release. This platform could potentially serve as a game launcher and potentially a store, according to Engadget.
