Paris is getting ready to live to the rhythm of the Olympic Games for two weeks. A global event that is shaking up the habits of many Parisians and attracting tourists from all over the world. For the occasion, developments are multiplying in the capital and Samsung wants to play a major role. The partner of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which will present its new products in the French capital on July 10, announces a collaboration with Île-de-France Mobilités and Air France to facilitate the transport of French people and tourists.

Transport tickets in your smartphone, with Samsung Wallet

The South Korean manufacturer’s virtual wallet, Samsung Wallet, is full of new features to help you get around France. Galaxy smartphones, equipped with Samsung Wallet, will see the arrival of Île-de-France Mobilités (IdFM) to facilitate transport across the region via Navigo passes or dematerialized single tickets. The manufacturer promises improved navigation thanks to the support of a selection of Parisian tourist sites. In addition, a shortcut will provide easy access to the IDF Mobilités application. The brand also mentions the possibility of accessing buses, metros and the Réseau Express Regional (RER) lines, without physical cards or tickets.

Ile-de-France residents are not the only ones affected and owners of Galaxy smartphones will also be able to travel more easily throughout the rest of France. Samsung integrates dematerialized transport tickets in several large cities, including Marseille, Lyon, Toulouse, Lille and Aix-en-Provence.

All you have to do is present your smartphone at an access terminal on public transport. Finally, users will have access to RoissyBus and OrlyBus shuttles when they travel to the capital or the Paris region.

Samsung’s virtual wallet brings Air France on board

Samsung is also thinking about air travelers and has announced a unique collaboration with Air France. It will allow you to manage plane tickets directly from a Galaxy smartphone. Almost all of the models recently launched by Samsung are compatible.

Samsung Wallet also offers to add entrance tickets to different emblematic sites. The South Korean giant notably mentions the Palace of Versailles or more than 200 cinemas. Here again, the ambition is to facilitate access for visitors equipped with a Galaxy smartphone.
