Samsung's highly anticipated Galaxy Ring has finally been available since last July. The small ring is capable of providing you with a lot of data related to your health such as heart rate, blood oxygen level, your skin temperature and sleep tracking.
Despite its price of €449, the Galaxy Ring is a real success, pushing the South Korean manufacturer to increase production of its connected ring by 150% this year, to 600,000 units. Samsung sees a new competitor arriving in this market. Casio has just presented the CRW-001-1JR, a very original ring with a design similar to that of a watch.
Casio introduces watch-like smart ring
Casio unveils a surprising “watch ring”, as Timex did at the start of the month with the Timex T80. The CRW-001-1JR is inspired by the design of the Casio Digital A168. The small device to be worn on your finger has an LCD screen capable of displaying the time, like a real watch.
The ring includes three functional buttons that can control additional functions such as displaying the date and a stopwatch. CRW-001-1JR also authorizes set an alarm that flashes the screen rather than making a sound. « This feature is an emotional expression of the sparkle of time ”, as Casio describes it in a very romantic way.

Note that the ring size, available in 10.5 inches, is not adjustable. Instead, Casio includes spacers that you can remove if your fingers are smaller. On the other hand, if they are larger, you will unfortunately have to turn to another connected ring.
The case, case back and ring are molded in one piece, and even the holes in the bracelet are reproduced in detail. In addition, glass adhesive technology ensures airtightness. The waterproof device has a battery life of two years, but can easily be replaced in the event of failure. Note that the connected ring does not have any health functionality, which explains its rather low price.
The CRW-001-1JR will be available in Japan from December at a price of ¥19,800, or approximately €121 excluding tax. Unfortunately, the Japanese company has not mentioned a release in France. Apple's connected ring is still awaited.
