New details about Samsung’s upcoming smart glasses appear to have been leaked. User X @Jukanlosreve recently shared information about the wearable product, citing China-based Wellsen XR research group. These details highlight several likely similarities between Samsung’s product and the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses.
According to the tipster, the Samsung AI smart glasses will use the same Qualcomm AR1 chipset as the Meta glasses. The gadget is also equipped with a 12-megapixel Sony IMX681 camera; the older model has a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera. The new product is said to have a 155 mAh battery, about the same as the 154 mAh battery in Ray-Bans, and the weight is similar at around 50 g (~0.1 lb). Additionally, Samsung’s glasses are said to feature Google’s Gemini artificial intelligence assistant. The Maeil Business newspaper suggests that this assistant could offer QR code reading, human recognition and gesture control functions.
Additionally, the report claims that users will be able to use smart wearables to make contactless payments. These leaks indicate that Samsung AI smart glasses will be launched between July and September (Q3) in 2025. According to Wellsen XR Research, 500,000 units will be produced initially. It remains to be seen how much Samsung’s smart glasses will cost. As a guide, the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses currently retail for $289 on Amazon.
