WhatsApp is full of new features: what will change for your calls

Filters and other special effects of augmented reality: this is what WhatsApp will soon offer us for its video calls.

This good old WABetaInfo, a site which devotes itself body and soul to unearthing all the new features to come in the open and closed betas of WhatsApp, has discovered yet another new thing. This time, it’s video calls that will get a facelift.

During these, we will in fact be entitled to new filters and retouching effects in augmented reality. For example, if you are too lazy to wear makeup, you can take advantage of an option to give you softer and even skin, which is already done elsewhere. You will also have the option of a “low-light” mode whose aim is to improve the visibility of elements in the event of an environment that is too dark. You can also change the background, as most video conferencing platforms allow.

And of course, alongside all these very serious filters, the platform would also intend to develop others, a little more crazy.

Not long ago, WhatsApp was full of new features in order to attack the market of videoconferencing applications like Zoom, and it seems that the platform persists and signs with these upcoming changes.

Note, however, that these features are still in development, and should not land on our phones for some time…
