Module principal : 8 Mpx, f/2

The Xiaomi Redmi Pad Pro provides the minimum service in terms of image capture. The device has a single 8 megapixel back module, but don’t be fooled by its two “eyes”: the second is not a lens, it is a flash. The images lack sharpness, but for an 8 Mpx sensor adapted to a tablet, it does pretty well. You should not ask it to reproduce the finest details, that said, the colorimetry remains suitable.

In low light, although it does a little better than the Lenovo Tab P12 in terms of colorimetry, the Pad Pro suffers from noise so marked that it makes most of the details of the scene disappear at the periphery, or even at the center of the image. Reserve for very occasional use.

Front module, video mode

Really modest in terms of image capture, the Redmi Pad Pro skips portrait mode, both on the back and on the front. For selfies, you have to make do with an 8 Mpx sensor associated with a wide-angle lens (f/2.28), which will also be enough for a few images, but whose lack of sharpness remains notable. Consider deactivating the beautification options selected by default and which contribute to increasing the smoothing of images…

In terms of video, the device also plays the simplicity card. It is thus possible to film up to 1080p at 30 fps, on the front as well as on the back, but no more. This will be enough to make video calls, but don’t imagine turning into a director with the Redmi Pad Pro.
