This successor to one of the greatest video game series is about to land on Steam after creating a surprise! A profitable operation for which sales are low despite its quality.

A new start

Despite a very enthusiastic critical reception, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown suffered from a rather slow start, selling 300,000 copies at the end of January, after 15 days of publication, generating nearly $15 million in revenue. Results well below Ubisoft’s forecasts which could finally take off, since the title is expected on Steam on August 8.

A Steam version which will also include the latest free updates which are the Warrior’s Path with its Speedruns and PermaDeath options, the Boss Attack mode as well as the “Divine Trials” mode. It is now possible to add Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown to your wishlist, while still being available in the Epic Game Store, the Ubisoft Store, on Nintendo Switch, PS4/5, Xbox One and Series X/S. This release on the Valve platform will undoubtedly be followed by the title’s narrative DLC: Mask of Darknessrecently teased during the capsule allocated to the license at the heart of the recent Ubisoft Forward.

Persian Shadows

This narrative DLC promises to develop the title’s story, notably presenting Sargon, the protagonist, facing a giant mask which, according to some, is reminiscent of that worn by Radjen, the assassin under Vahram’s orders and disappearing from the main frame after a certain point. In fact, a note found near the end of the game suggests that she may in fact have died, thus foreshadowing his return to Persia.

The main game takes place in a Persian empire on the verge of collapse, after more than 30 years of drought and famine, which the Kushan empire is trying to take advantage of to steal its lands. The last invasion is also repelled thanks to the efforts of Sargon, having even killed General Kushan, alongside the immortals, Persian shadow warriors. But as they celebrate their victory, Prince Ghassan is kidnapped by the Kushan general Anahita, thus leading Sargon on the kidnapper’s trail. The title is already available on the Epic Game Store, the Ubisoft Store, on Nintendo Switch, PS4/5, Xbox One and Series X/S and is expected on Steam on August 8.
