Chassis, connections, screen of the Asus TUF Gaming A15 TUF506NF-HN007W

With its black Graphite Black design with robust angular lines and its compliance with the MIL-STD-810H military resistance standard, it has a gamer look.

The connectivity integrated into this gamer-oriented laptop PC is good, consisting of 1 USB-C, Ethernet and audio ports, Wi-Fi 6 ax and Bluetooth 5.3 wireless modules for remote connections and communications, a useful HDMI video output to easily connect it to a TV or monitor for example or 3 USB 3.0 (USB 2.0 compatible) ensuring transfers are carried out up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 when plugged in above USB 3.0 devices.

The chiclet keyboard benefits from a backlighting solution that you simply activate if you need to better discern your keys.

Players will be delighted that the screen has a refresh rate of 144Hz higher than the standard 60Hz because it clearly improves general fluidity, including in games.
Anti-reflective treated, the screen ensures better visibility than a shiny panel in a bright environment (e.g. outdoors) while benefiting from significant viewing angles, both horizontally and vertically, thanks to its IPS technology.
The Full HD screen also lends itself well to displaying videos due to its 16:9 format.

Performance, autonomy of the Asus TUF Gaming A15 TUF506NF-HN007W

The Asus TUF Gaming A15 TUF506NF-HN007W is a versatile 15-inch performance laptop focused on gaming and creation.

Driven by a Ryzen 5 7535HS AMD Rembrandt Refresh Hexa Core processor supported by 16 GB of RAM, this creative gamer-oriented laptop PC delivers solid general performance that will suit many users.

We are thinking in particular of creative people since this core deploys its full potential in areas that are intensive in CPU and RAM resources taking advantage of multi-cores, such as photo editing, video editing or 3D rendering. In this case, we obtain faster processing than with a Quad Core processor and 8 GB DDR4/5

Especially since here the processing benefits from graphics acceleration under software using GPU computing power, such as Vegas, Adobe Photoshop/Premiere or VSDC.

Because the dedicated GeForce RTX 2050 ray tracing graphics card equipped with NVIDIA Ampere architecture is on board. Certainly not the most powerful dedicated GPU available, the GeForce RTX 2050 still supports games that are not too demanding on 3D resources.

In practice, NVIDIA Optimus technology uses the GeForce RTX 2050 to carry out graphics processing deemed too heavy for the Radeon 660M graphics module inserted in the Ryzen 5.

Whether with the GeForce RTX 2050 or the Radeon 660M, you can obviously watch photos and videos. And even play light games. The Radeon 660M is especially energy efficient and therefore promotes autonomy.

Autonomy represents an undeniable advantage of this configuration since it is around 7 hours on battery in light use.
Some people looking for a versatile multimedia-oriented student laptop may be interested if the thickness and weight of this computer are not among their essential criteria.

Optimus actually switches as needed automatically in real time between the Radeon 660M and the GeForce RTX 2050.

For this configuration Asus opts in terms of storage for a solution similar to that offered by many models on the market, including much more expensive ones: a 512 GB SSD.
Of course, if you need additional space, you can use an external storage device, preferably USB 3.0/USB-C, to obtain fast transfers.

In any case, an SSD provides much better fluidity and responsiveness on a daily basis than a hard drive because it is much faster. And it also offers other advantages: greater robustness, lower energy consumption and even silent operation.

Concretely starting/stopping, launching games/software or even carrying out multimedia processing is faster with an SSD than with a hard drive, just like accessing online game cards.

As for heating and noise, expect them to be present in the event of heavy use (e.g. games, treatments) of this versatile gamer-oriented laptop PC to which you can couple a ventilated support to limit its temperatures (remember to check the dimensions carefully!).
