leak reveals release date and first character

A new leak may have revealed a 2025 release date for The Witcher 4, as well as a mention of a character from the game.

After Cyberpunk 2077 and its Phantom Liberty expansion, CD Projekt Red is hard at work on the next installment in The Witcher series, which many on the internet have tentatively dubbed The Witcher 4.

Officially, CD Projekt Red has not given a release window, even less release date for The Witcher 4. In fact, the information and guidance he provided suggested that the game was still quite a way off. However, this assumption may well be wrong.

The Witcher 4 is coming, and it's coming soon

On GOG, the digital distribution platform for PC owned by CD Projekt, an entry for The Witcher 4 has been added. More precisely, the placeholder has been added to the GOG application. But that's not all, sincea placeholder release date of December 31, 2025 has also been added. This does not mean that the game will be released on December 31, 2025. Rather, it is a placeholder for a “2025” release in general. In other words, this means that the game will be released sometime next year, if this placeholder has any basis.

It is more likely that this placeholder date indicates a release in 2026 rather than 2025, but it is still information on the release date of the game, which we did not have before since CD Projekt Red has not officially announced anything .

Additionally, a new report about the game has resurfaced online. This report comes from Redanian Intelligence, a very reliable source when it comes to this series. According to this media, actor Jake Lampert will play a character called Branko in the game. The importance of this character, the role he could play in the game, remains unclear. Redanian Intelligence did not disclose additional information.

CD Projekt Red is working on several other projects. We know that among them is a new license, a sequel for the Cyberpunk franchiseand then the next installment of The Witcher series. We look forward to hearing more about The Witcher 4, or whatever CD Projekt Red calls it.
