Latest DJI Neo update improves speed, tracking and other important aspects

DJI’s most compact drone hasn’t been out for very long. Nonetheless, the company has already supplanted the Neo with several other newer models. As a reminder, DJI then launched the Osmo Action 5 Pro ($349 currently on Amazon) before launching the Air 3S and the Goggles N3 at the start of the week.

It can be said that the release of the Goggles N3 is an integral part of the latest software update for the Neo, which DJI is now offering worldwide. For reference, the new update is numbered v01.00.0400 and arrives alongside a series of updates for Neo accessories. Mainly, v01.00.0400 adds support for the Goggles N3, which is a bigger FPV headset option than the existing Goggles 3.

Additionally, DJI introduced liveview stabilization for both headsets when paired with the Neo. Additionally, version 01.00.0400 should optimize in-flight positioning performance while adding support for vertical shots. Additionally, DJI’s mobile control app now offers full manual controls when live streaming in full screen.

Additionally, version 01.00.0400 is expected to increase the Neo’s flight speed when tracking a subject, although it is unclear to what extent or at what new maximum speed. In addition, it is finally possible to record audio using the DJI RC-N3 or DJI RC-N2 remote controls. Finally, DJI has integrated a noise reduction effect which, according to the company, helps preserve ambient sounds.
