Google seems to be taking an example from Meta since the Mountain View company will review a feature of its messaging application. It will soon be possible to choose the quality of photos to send.

Sending photos via Google Messages will soon evolve. It was Android Authority which spotted the feature in the code of the latest beta version of the application. This will offer two options, like what WhatsApp already offers. The first will allow you to send the photo in HD, a mode optimized for conversation by reducing the quality for faster transfer. The second, called HD+, will allow you to send the photo in its original quality, without compression. In other words, the media will not undergo any modification of its resolution or its quality. The downside is that sending will take longer and will require more data.

The system will be quite intuitive since the chosen option will be indicated in the lower right corner with the appropriate icon and a validation checkmark. Of course, this development is not trivial, especially at a time when photos can be increasingly cumbersome. This will allow everyone to choose between wanting to preserve photo quality or saving time and data. A good way to continue sending a certain quantity of images without sacrificing your mobile data envelope.
