Be careful the next time a site claims to verify your identity. A new malware campaign is currently targeting Windows users, according to Russian cybersecurity company Kapersky.
The principle of the scam is simple: an advertisement opens in your internet browser and takes up the entire screen. You are forced to click anywhere, then you are redirected to a new page on which a captcha is displayed, these tools verifying that you are not a robot.
The site instructions then encourage you to copy and paste a code into the Windows Terminal tool.
Once this code is entered, malware is installed on the computer and will record all your passwords and personal data.
The sites mainly concerned are those of online casinos or allowing torrents to be downloaded.
