leaked features, graphics cards with uneven specifications?

RTX 50 features

Whether it’s their specifications or their release date, NVIDIA’s “Blackwell” GPUs are difficult to approach. Fortunately, some leaks on the internet make it possible to glean some information About them.

Thus, it is possible to learn that the next generation of RTX 50 should benefit from an increase in their bandwidth. In addition, these graphics cards could feature Samsung’s GDDR7 memory.

Now, a new leak reveals a good part of the characteristics “Blackwell” graphics cards, including models GB202, GB203, GB205, GB206 and GB207. On the other hand, the information disclosed on X by Kopite7kimi must be taken with careNVIDIA having not yet made an official announcement.

Should some RTX 50s be avoided?

Thanks to the leak, it is notably possible to know the number of CUDA cores associated with each of the RTX 50 graphics cards. For example, the GB202 (the GeForce RTX 5090) would have 24,576 cores while the GB207 (possibly the RTX 5060) would only have 2,560.

Compared to the previous generation of graphics card (Ada Lovelace), users would face a increase for some models of equivalent cards but also to a clear decrease of number of cores for others.

  • GB202: 24,576 cores, or +33% compared to the AD102.
  • GB203: 10,752 cores, +5% compared to the AD103.
  • GB205: 6,400 cores, -16.6% compared to the AD104.
  • GB206: 4,608 cores, the same number of cores as the AD106.
  • GB207: 2,560 cores, or -16.6% compared to the AD107.

In short, this means that certain models would be good more efficient compared to the previous generation. On the other hand, for the most “affordable” cards, the power gap could be less important provided that. This would be the case, in particular, for the RTX 5060 or 5050 (GB207) which would be lower in number of CUDA cores while retaining GDDR6 memory.

NVIDIA would keep a proven catalog

It is likely that “Blackwell” graphics cards follow a similar nomenclature to that of the previous generation. So if the GB202 should be the GeForce 5090, the GB203 should logically be the RTX 5080 And so on.

These two graphics cards should represent the high-end segment from NVIDIA while the GB205 would be mid-range (RTX 5070 and 5070 Ti). The GPU206 would be the general public segment while the GB207 (RTX 5060 or 5050) would represent the entry level.

The GeForce RTX 50 family should make their mark appearance at the end of the year, notably the RTX 5090 whose release would have been brought forward. The rest of the graphics cards should follow shortly and could be launched in the during the year 2025.

  • The characteristics of the GeForce RTX 50 based on NVIDIA’s Blackwell architecture have reportedly leaked.
  • The number of CUDA cores would be irregular, that of the RTX 5050 would be lower than the previous generation.
  • These graphics cards should be marketed at the end of 2024 for the RTX 5090 and during 2025 for the others.
