OnePlus has started rolling out a stable version of OxygenOS 15 for the OnePlus 12 to users around the world. The update brings several new features, including animations, wallpapers and themes, in addition to improved security features.

There was a time when OnePlus was one of the first manufacturers to roll out a new Android update to its devices. Unfortunately, this changed a few years ago. Today, it seems like the good old days have returned as OnePlus has started rolling out the OxygenOS 15 update which is based on the Android 15 version on the OnePlus 12.

The update, which is rolling out to users across all regions (India, North America, Europe, and Global), comes just weeks after the release of the stable Android 15 update for Pixel phones. As usual, the update is rolling out in batches with a wider rollout planned for the rest of the week.

The list of changes is quite detailed, but some of them are worth mentioning. For starters, users should see improvements in animations thanks to a new graphics engine. There are also new icons, wallpapers and themes, as well as new always-on display and clock styles for the lock screen.

OxygenOS 15 also brings a change to how you access notifications and the Quick Settings menu: a swipe from the top left will take you to the notifications menu, while a swipe from the top right will bring up the Settings menu revamped rapids. The new software also brings a charge limiting feature that stops charging the phone when it reaches 80%. According to OnePlus, this should allow extend battery life and minimize degradation.

OnePlus says it has also added categories to files stored in the Private Vault and added a shortcut to the home screen for quick access to hidden apps. In addition to the easter egg of Android 15, there is also the easter egg of OnePlus in the calculator app which can be seen when you enter 1+=.

While OxygenOS 15 brings several new features, improvements and refinements, the OnePlus 12

(currently available on Amazon for $649.99) does not have any AI-related features. This is because the AI-related features, which include AI Notes and AI Unblur, are still being tested. However, they will eventually launch by the end of the month.
