The recently announced Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, which will be used in one or all Galaxy S25 smartphones, could experience overheating issues in these devices.

Here’s what we know

First tests of the recently revealed Realme GT7 Pro based on the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip have shown that the device heats up a lot when running graphics benchmarks. In the 3DMark stress test, the phone reached a temperature of 46 degrees Celsius and issued overheating warnings. In some cases, the device even stopped working, allowing only calls to be made.

Despite this, under normal conditions such as gaming and daily tasks, the Realme GT7 Pro showed stable performance. However, these results raise fears that the Galaxy S25 Ultra equipped with this chip could face similar problems. Samsung needs to pay special attention to the cooling system to avoid overheating and ensure stable performance of its new flagship devices.
