More and more regularly, video game developers add accessibility options to their creations to adapt the gaming experience to everyone.. Among the most widespread fears in the world is arachnophobia, namely the phobia of spiders. Some people hate these little beasts so much that they can neither watch a film in which they appear, nor play a software which contains them. This is why we've seen titles add “arachnophobic” options: it would be a shame to deprive yourself of an audience because of a dark story about fear of spiders. This is pretty much what Monster Hunter Wilds also offers. Capcom's game, which is currently playable thanks to its beta, does have an option designed to help arachnophobes progress. When enabled, creatures that closely or remotely resemble spiders become greenish blobs that are much less impressive. You still need to not have a phobia of small sticky piles, a fear which could have appeared after watching the film The Blob directed by Chuck Russell in 1988. Of course, transform anything that has more than 6 legs into a ball viscous does not make opponents harmless however. In fact, they keep their abilities, only their visual changes.

If you are not familiar with the license, Monster Hunter Wilds will ask you to explore varied environments by tracking down powerful monsters. To defeat these terrible enemies, you must forge new weapons and ever more resistant armor with the different materials collected. The story of this episode focuses on the story of young Nata, who was rescued on the edge of the Forbidden Lands, a region still unexplored by the Guild. Intrigued by these events, the Guild decides to organize an expedition to investigate. “Now the time has come for these brave people to set out on an adventure to learn more about the monster called the White Specter and to rescue the threatened Watcher” explains Capcom.
