“The Watch of the Year”, which can be described as the “Cesar of watches”, had its 3e edition on October 31, 2024 and dedicated to the most beautiful watches of this year. Organized by journalist Frank Declerck, creator of the site MyWatch and known in the watchmaking world with his YouTube channel Frank Sans C, this ceremony, which was held at the Automobile Club de France in Paris, rewarded the most beautiful watches of the year 2024.
After a broad selection, carried out by journalists from the profession (including GQ), the final vote went to the public. More than 120,000 people gave their vote to watches ranging from less than 500 euros to more than 350,000 euros. There were exactly 12 categories: 10 in order of price (less than 500 euros, from 501 to 1000 euros, from 1001 to 2000 euros, from 2001 to 5000 euros, from 5001 to 10,000 euros, from 10,001 to 25,000 euros, from 25,001 at 50,000 euros, from 50,001 to 100,000 euros, from 100,001 to 350,000 euros and more than 350,000 euros), 1 for the women's watch of the year and 1 for the best connected watch. To these 12 awards is added that of THE watch of the year which is naturally the one which has accumulated the most votes among the 12 winning watches in their category. This is the Tudor Black Bay 58 GMT, sold for 4,420 euros.
Two other prizes were awarded during this “Watch of the Year 2024” ceremony: a special prize for Omega and all its news surrounding the Paris Olympic Games, and another for Georges Kern, the 140-year-old CEO of Breitling. this year, and which also relaunched the Universal Genève brand.
