This is what emerges from the report Horizons 2025 on travel trends recently published by Expedia Group. Who would have imagined that a relaxing week with a cocktail bar and an all-you-can-eat buffet could become trendy again?
According to the data analyzed, “a third of members of Generation Z say that their perception of all-inclusive stays has improved.” And even more: “42% of them say that an all-inclusive resort would be their favorite type of hotel”!
More generally, the report highlights that the hashtag #allinclusive is particularly present on TikTok and that searches on Hotels.com (part of Expedia Group) using the “All inclusive” filter a 60% jump this year compared to last year.
Does that surprise you? The reasons that push travelers under 25 to look at all-inclusive options are these:
- 41% of them say that reducing stress is the main motivation;
- 39% talk about the ease of booking;
- and 38% mention the feeling of luxury the experience provides.
Surprisingly, the issue of price or value for money is not mentioned.
Not just all-inclusives for strolling in the sun
The report finally notes that all-inclusive hotels are adapting to the new clientele by offering adapted services, styles and activities. And that, contrary to what we believe at first glance, the concept of all-inclusive is not limited to vacations “in the South”. All-inclusive ski packages in the Alps or in distant, lesser-known destinations are also popular.
Here are examples of hotels that cater well to the younger generation, according to Hotels.com:
