In Spain, a drunk and totally unmanageable Swiss passenger led an airliner to turn around to disembark and hand him over to the police. He was later released, but will certainly have to answer for his actions.

The events took place on Monday on a Ryanair plane which was to connect Valencia to Milan. The plane took off normally in the early afternoon.

But shortly after takeoff, the crew notified the Valencia airport control tower that they needed to turn around and return to their starting point. The reason? A drunk and “problematic” passenger, reports “Las Provincias”. The plane landed around 2:10 p.m. and the unwanted person was handed over to the Guardia Civil.

“Problematic”, we can say: once installed on the plane, this man started smoking. Despite the crew’s intervention, he had lit several cigarettes. He would also have shouted and provoked those around him, blowing smoke in the faces of his neighbors…

The police therefore arrested the individual once the plane returned to Valencia. Was he calmed down? In any case, this Swiss man was not violent and no longer posed any problems, the Spanish daily explains. He was eventually released. However, it is very likely that the company will turn against him, in which case he risks paying dearly.

No details about his age or identity have been released.
