After a very convincing Poco X6 Pro, here is the F6 range officially presented. A two-headed range, which revolves around two smartphones with attractive technical proposals. Let’s take a closer look at the Poco F6 and Poco F6 Pro.

An F6 Pro worthy of the high-end

Let’s start at the top of the basket. Successor to the already very good Poco F5 Pro, this new model pushes the sliders ever further. If it has a fairly similar design and unchanged dimensions, this year the smartphone is switching to a screen offering a generous definition of 3,200×1,440 pixels, still clocked at 120 Hz. The kind of advantage that you don’t usually find only on very high-end phones. An OLED screen, of course, which could reach the impressive brightness of 4,000 nits at peak, assures the manufacturer.

The Poco F6 Pro is presented as “a beast of speed” by its designer, and for good reason: it is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. The same one that offered peak performance to almost all high-end smartphones of 2023! An ultra-fast processor coupled with a cutting-edge GPU, capable of running all the games in the Play Store. In addition, we benefit from optimal 5G coverage and even WiFi 7 compatibility.

On the photo side, the F6 Pro displays three sensors: a 50 Mpx wide-angle (ƒ/1.6, OIS), an 8 Mpx ultra-wide-angle (ƒ/2.2) and a 2 Mpx macro module. Add, at the front, a 16 Mpx sensor for selfies, and we have a modest, but rather balanced configuration for the positioning of the device.

Finally, the 5,000 mAh battery can be recharged at 120 W with the supplied charger. The Poco F6 Pro will be available at the beginning of June starting at €579 (12+256 GB). The most muscular model, integrating 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage, costs €699.

A Poco F6 with a new chip

A little more technically modest, the Poco F6 is nevertheless a pioneer. It is the first smartphone to launch with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip. If its nomenclature suggests that it is a version superior to the SoCs integrated into high-end phones of 2024, this is not the case. Technically speaking, the 8 Gen 2 of the F6 Pro remains superior and offers both higher performance and WiFi 7 compatibility which is absent here.

Still, this smartphone comes in a design that brings a slight breath of fresh air to the Poco range. Still equipped with a 6.67” AMOLED screen, its definition of 2,712×1,220 pixels will ensure good readability, as will its brightness announced at 2,400 nits peak. Of course, the frequency remains clocked at 120 Hz.

The photo configuration is based on two sensors quite similar to the F6 Pro: a 50 Mpx wide-angle (ƒ/1.59, OIS) and an 8 Mpx ultra-wide-angle. At the front, however, selfies should be presented a little better thanks to 20 Mpx optics (ƒ/2.2). Finally, its 5,000 mAh battery can be recharged at 90 W with the included block.

The Poco F6 will be released in June starting at €449 (8+256 GB). The model with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage is announced at €499.
